In his winning project for his light installation, Marcos Zotes explained:
"Rafmögnuð Náttúra" (Electric Nature) is a temporary, site-specific video installation projected onto the façade of Hallgrímskirkja. Following the theme of the competition and taking inspiration from the natural conditions of Iceland, a series of illustrated animations, live visuals and 3d effects reflect our personal interpretation for the concept of "Magnað Myrkur" (Amazing Darkness). The aim is to transform the static condition of this iconic landmark into a spectacular experience of light, colour and movement, through an ephemeral art piece based on the 4 natural elements –water, earth, fire and air."
